Leihdeih hou!
Well, the moment has finally come. This is my last weekly email from Hong Kong! I cannot believe how the time has flown. I have learned so much in the past year and half and I can't imagine all the learning that I'll keep doing in the future.
This week was really good. I won't bother with the details too much, partially because I can explain in person soon and partly because this week flew by so fast that I can hardly remember it all myself. Lots and lots of friends to see before I leave. As much as I will miss Hong Kong, it's the people that are going to be the hardest for me to leave. These people have become my family and I am so grateful for all that they have taught me.
Guys, the church is so true. If I give myself more than a few minutes to think about it, I start to get overwhelmed by how much God loves each of us. There are so many things in our lives that are put there for reasons that we can't even comprehend, and looking back over my mission, those things are starting to become so obvious to me. God is our Father, Jesus is the Christ, and this is His Church. Pray always, read the Book of Mormon daily, and go to church weekly, and everything will be okay. I am so grateful for all the miracles I have seen here in Hong Kong. This has truly become a sacred place for me, and I am so thankful for all the things that I have learned in this special little city. Don't forget that God lives and God loves.
For the last time, lots of love from the Pearl of the Orient. See you all soon.

7. Last cheng with our deaf members. I love these people.
Leihdeih hou, my dear granddaughter,
ReplyDeleteYou are arriving at a "bitter-sweet" moment of your mission. The past eighteen months plus, have provided a lifetime of memories you will be able to share with generations following you. Those you leave will also remember you, even though time and distance may intervene. Your postings show a mutual love for both, people and places. Within days, you will find yourself in a state of "decompression," adjusting to the environment of the United States and sans mission rules. Your letters reflect a maturity that speak of one who is capable of handling any challenge. Now, before you "roll your eyes" and say the words, "Oh, whatever Grandpa" remember, I have spent a lifetime trying to "grow up" so, I have become somewhat an "expert" in evaluating and assessing others! You are a talented and gifted person; a choice daughter of Our Father-in-Heaven. Your "Mission" is not over--just "modified"to a new path. Your path will ultimately lead back to a Celestial realm with your loved ones. I look forward to that day!
I love you more!
